Experience
Success in life is important to everyone and education is an integral part of that. I really want to help people succeed in life through taking charge of their education and thus be able to pursue their dreams. I too have struggled through many classes, but I worked hard, got help where I needed to, and succeeded. I can help you do the same. My personal approach to tutoring is to teach to the student's individual needs. I am a pre-med student and within the healthcare world I see the need for each patient to be given their own tailored therapy, not just a generic approach. And I believe that tutoring is very much the same. If they need continual guidance or simply occasional instruction, I can modify to tutoring to meet their needs. My relationship with the student is very important and I want them to see me as a friend in addition to me being their mentor, while of course maintaining professionalism. I have experience tutoring in Math and Materials Science, but because of the variety of classes I have taken, I am also experienced in many other subjects. As I am currently employed as a research assistant, I also have in depth experience in many areas within science such as molecular biology, immunology, biotechnology, and chemical thermodynamics. It is my goal to always strive to be the best friend and mentor possible within every situation. And because of this, I have had many successful tutoring opportunities whether it be in my employment as a research/teaching assistant, with my peers in the classes I take, or within my family helping my siblings with their homework. As a senior in the chemical engineering program at Brigham Young University, I have taken upper level university courses in math, engineering, chemistry, and biology. My current GPA is 3.88 which is in the 90th percentile of the engineering college within the university. I have also been accepted into various honor societies such as the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society and the Golden Key International Honour Society. I have participated in several clubs including BYU's Biomedical Engineering Club, BYU's local chapter of the Society of Biological Engineers, and the American Institute of Chemical Engineering. I also plan to attend medical school of graduating from BYU and specialize in oncology. In addition to my background mentioned above, I am also a husband, a father, and a faithful church member. I love being outdoors hiking, rock climbing, fishing, and target shooting. My favorite past time however, is being with my family and going on runs or bike rides with my wife and son. Please feel free to contact me even with quick questions.
