My students have been able to: -Raise their ACT scores by 5 points -Get good grades in hard science classes they had previously failed -Turn a C in Calculus into a 4 on the AP test I know how to help my students succeed in academics because of my own experience. I scored a 34 on the ACT, scored in the 99th percentile of the NMSC test, and scored above the 90th percentile for all subjects on SAT. Math and Physics now form the basis of all my studies in Mechanical Engineering. Any motivated individual can learn anything. My goal is to help students build higher-level comprehension of their course material. When they understand the overarching ideas, individual homework problems are no longer an isolated challenge, but a natural extension of what they already know. To build this level of understanding, I focus on translating complicated ideas into simple terms. This way my students can skip memorizing step-by-step solution methods because the pathway to solve problems becomes intuitive. We'll work through a few problems together and discover exactly how they work. That way, when I leave they are well equipped to handle the rest of their homework or study. It takes time and effort to become fluent in the mathematical language, but it can open your mind to seeing the world in a new way. And I believe that math and physics are beautiful for that reason.
